Martham is a large, pretty village located just 9 miles (14.48 km) north of Great Yarmouth and less than 10 minutes drive from the beach at Hemsby. The village lies partly within the Norfolk Broads National Park, and one of its boundaries is the upper reaches of the Thurne River, a world-renowned fishing location.
Martham has a large village green with Georgian houses, shops, pubs and restaurants in the centre. During the summer months, visitors and locals can enjoy events such as the Scarecrow Festival, and Carnival.
Martham north and south Broads have some of the clearest water in the entire Broads system, and there is a canoe hire centre if you'd like to explore the River Thurne.
